Green Dot Joins Virtual Panel on K-12 Student Homelessness
This summer, Melissa Peña, Green Dot’s Community School Manager, participated in the Homelessness Policy Research Virtual Research Symposium on K-12 Student Homelessness. Peña manages our wraparound services and external partnerships that connect families with the resources and support they need.
On the Homelessness Policy Research Institute (HPRI) panel, which streamed on July 28, 2020, Peña shared how COVID-19 has impacted how we approach homelessness outreach to our families; How we remain connected to our students during distance learning; Common obstacles that prevent families from learning about homelessness services and how we are creating opportunities for outreach during distance learning.
