Green Dot Public Schools Named Top Place to Work in Memphis
The Commercial Appeal, in partnership with research firm, Energage, LLC (formerly WorkplaceDynamics), announced today that Green Dot Public Schools Tennessee is one of the best places to work in the Greater Memphis area. Green Dot is thrilled to be acknowledged on this year’s Top Workplaces 2017 list, as the professional development and empowerment of its employees is a top priority for the organization. Green Dot employs roughly 220 individuals in the Tennessee area.
The Top Workplaces 2017 list was based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey, measuring several aspects of workplace culture. Public, private and nonprofit organizations across Shelby, Tipton and Fayette counties were surveyed.
“The Top Workplaces award is not a popularity contest. And oftentimes people assume it’s all about fancy perks and benefits,” says Doug Claffey, CEO of Energage. “But to be a Top Workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health. And who better to ask about work life than the people who live the culture every day—the employees. Time and time again, our research has proven that what’s most important to them is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it’s going to get there, and the feeling that everyone is in it together.” Claffey adds, “Without this sense of connection, an organization doesn’t have a shot at being named a Top Workplace.”
Green Dot Public Schools is one of the leading independent non-profit public school operators in the nation with schools not only in Memphis, but also in California and Washington state. Across its network of schools, Green Dot encourages its teachers and staff to be leaders and key decision-makers so that all students can achieve better outcomes and succeed to and through college. Green Dot is currently looking for individuals to join its excellent teachers, school leaders, and staff members across all of its regions.
“The work I do here at Green Dot Public Schools is rewarding personally and professionally. I am able to build relationships with my students and experience their academic progress on a daily basis,” said Jeremy Bolding.
“I have been a teacher with Green Dot for four years and each year I have become a better teacher leader through the support, collaboration, and opportunities for professional growth that are available to all employees.”
