Green Dot Public Schools Tennessee Re-Entry Updates 10/11
“Self-care is giving the world the best of you, instead of what's left of you.”
- Kathie Reed
This week, our organization will take a break and fully acknowledge the changing of the season and the end of the first quarter of distance learning. Green Dot Public Schools TN can't thank enough the teachers, staff and students who have given their best in a very different situation. It's our hope that during this week, teachers, staff and administrators will partake in some much needed rest, relaxation and self-care.
It is our hope that through this time of refueling and reflection, all in the organization will simply enjoy this break. We hope that all will come to realize that making time to rest is a springboard for productivity, not a break from it. This is time to streamline activities by doing fewer things even better. Make self - care a routine so it continues long after this break and finally focus on the pros and cons of current habits: value right actions over right results.

Around the Dot
Last weekend Bluff City High School and Kirby Middle Schools joined together to host a Hispanic Heritage Month event focused on celebrating and experiencing Hispanic culture, art, music and food! A huge shout out to GDPST parent, Ms. Chaidez, who volunteered her time to cook the tacos. They were DELICIOUS! Dancer and GDPST supporter Mikal Stevenson also generously volunteered his time to teach attendees how to Salsa. To top it all off, the highlight of the day were the piñatas! Thank you to Bluff City High and Kirby Middle for hosting a great event to celebrate our students.
In Case You Missed It
Need WiFi at home?
Green Dot Public Schools TN understands the technology gap that exists for families in our communities. We are proud to be able to partner with Comcast to provide six months of free internet service to enrolled families who qualify. After the six months of free service, families will have the opportunity to continue, with a nominal fee.
We have extended this opportunity to all of our current students and have received an overwhelming response. Fortunately, we are able to extend this to newly enrolled students as well. So, if there are families contemplating enrollment but are afraid they will not have access to internet for their students to attend distance learning, we will work to get them enrolled, assign a laptop and set them up with Comcast for WiFi.
Please email your full name, your student's full name, and your best contact number to [email protected] or call your student's school to sign up today!
