Green Dot Public Schools Tennessee Re-Entry Updates 9/6
“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”
- Lao Tzu
Congratulations Green Dot Public Schools TN on completing four weeks of distance learning! It has been a journey of continuous ebbs and flows. Our current reality requires the ability to go with the flow, especially when the weather in Memphis knocks the power out, or Zoom is down nationally. Even with all of these changes and uncertainties, our teachers and students have persisted, flowing naturally and continuing with the learning process. We remain grateful for all we have learned and will proceed as naturally as we can.

Partner Spotlight
This week's GDPST Partner Spotlight is Communities In Schools!
Communities In Schools (CIS) is an organization that works directly in 2,300 schools in 25 states and the District of Columbia, to build relationships that empower students to stay in school and succeed in life. School-based staff partner with teachers to identify challenges students face in class or at home and coordinate with community partners to bring outside resources inside schools. From immediate needs like food or clothing to more complex ones like counseling or emotional support, we do whatever it takes to help students succeed.
We are excited to partner with CIS at Kirby Middle and Wooddale Middle. They have been working with us to change the outcomes for the students we serve for over four years. We look forward to continuing the work we do together to make sure students stay engaged in their academic journeys.
Happenings at the Dot
Bluff City Students of the Month
The Gray Wolves are doing great things from a distance! We are celebrating academic excellence and ALL the things that come along with it. Congratulations to our scholars who have been selected by their teachers as exemplary distance learners. Each student received a pack member yard sign, a Chick-Fil-A lunch delivery, a choice of Bluff City swag and recognition on the school's social media pages. These students are winning on their journey to college, leadership and life!
In Case You Missed It
Need WiFi at home?
Green Dot Public Schools TN understands the technology gap that exists for families in our communities. We are proud to be able to partner with Comcast to provide six months of free internet service to enrolled families who qualify. After the six months of free service, families will have the opportunity to continue, with a nominal fee.
We have extended this opportunity to all of our current students and have received an overwhelming response. Fortunately, we are able to extend this to newly enrolled students as well. So, if there are families contemplating enrollment but are afraid they will not have access to internet for their students to attend distance learning, we will work to get them enrolled, assign a laptop and set them up with Comcast for WiFi.
Please email your full name, your student's full name, and your best contact number to [email protected] or call your student's school to sign up today!
