At Green Dot, we know it takes the dedication of every part of a community to fulfill our mission in the face of overwhelming need. While a school shirt might not seem like a large expense to some, it can create a barrier for some parents eager to enroll their student at a Green Dot school. That’s why we work with organizations like Agape North, who has donated school shirts to several of our schools in Tennessee as part of their program to give back.

“We are thrilled to announce that in partnership with our clients who work with us to give back to students, Agape North crossed the milestone of 100,000 school shirts donated on Friday, September 14 at our Kirby Middle School event,” said Jason Baker, Director of School Relations at Agape North. The event featured the University of Memphis donating 450 free school shirts to all Kirby Middle School students and staff.

“We are grateful for Agape North and the University of Memphis,” said Jocquell Rodgers, Director of Community Engagement at Green Dot Tennessee. “Not only has their generosity provided free shirts to our students, but our partnership will continue to further our mission to make sure all students are prepared for high school, college, leadership and life.”

Agape North is a custom apparel company that works with large corporations, small businesses, faith-based organizations, universities, schools, sports programs, and others in search of custom screen printed or embroidered apparel items. “When we work with our clients on a custom apparel order, whether it be polos for a large corporation or t-shirts for a small family birthday party, they are able to give back school shirts to students locally through items they purchase,” commented Founder and President Joe Williams. “Once a purchase is made, we actually take that client to the school they are donating to, simply because we believe in both generosity and relationship. Providing clients and schools a chance to learn about and from one another is key to our entire philanthropic business model.”

Inherent to our mission is a belief that all truly means all, which includes the entire community -- partnering with organizations like Agape North unlocks the latent energy in every neighborhood and connects it to students. Together, we can ensure all students receive the resources they need to focus on their academic achievements.
