Supporting Our Communities During COVID-19
Today, the role of public education is more important than ever. As the COVID-19 crisis continues, Green Dot remains committed in our mission to serve the most vulnerable communities and ensure all students are prepared for college, leadership, and life. We’d like to share some of the ways Green Dot is responding to this pandemic.
Addressing Barriers to Learning
For 20 years, we’ve been dedicated to eliminating the barriers that threaten our students’ success and will continue to do so. Of the 15,000 students we serve across California and Memphis, an overwhelming number lack computer or internet access at home. To ensure that our students can continue their journeys towards successful futures, we’ve invested in laptops and wifi hotspots for all Green Dot students in need.
Access to Food and social services
The health crisis has threatened food security for the most vulnerable populations. Though our school buildings remain closed, our responsibility to serve our students, families, and communities remains a top priority. To date, our schools have served over 80,000 meals and we continue to connect families throughout our network with local food resources.
Mental Health Supports
As families continue to feel the impact of COVID-19, we worked diligently to connect families with mental health resources, and social services resources in their communities
