Green Dot starts each new school year with All Green Dot Day (AGDD), an organization-wide event that brings all Green Dot’s teachers, administrators, school site, and home office staff together for a day of celebration, recognition, mission focus, and personal development. AGDD gives us the chance to recognize the accomplishments and challenges we’ve made in the past year and set goals for the new one. And it happened this week!
At this year’s AGDD, we had lots to celebrate:
- The opening of two new Green Dot schools –Destiny Middle School in Tacoma, WA, and Wooddale Middle School in Memphis, TN
- The completion of our 15th year of providing rigorous education for more than 10,000 graduates
Going the Distance
Fifteen years ago, Green Dot was founded with the hope of closing the achievement gap that exists for underserved student populations. Every day, we work hard to create the access, opportunities, and choices that low-income students need in order to graduate college-ready and become educated, employed, and empowered global citizens. The 2015-16 school year is quickly approaching: For 15 more years, Green Dot is committed to being a key player in the renewed consciousness around public education. 2030, here we come!
